Dossier

As a professor, I am, first and foremost, committed to developing outstanding K-12 teachers.  Specifically, I am enthusiastically dedicated to improving education in K-12 settings. This goal for K-12 can only be achieved through sustained, effective development of educators and scholars.  I have addressed (and plan to continue to address) this significant need through my integrated agenda of teaching, research, and service.

In this dossier, I am proud to document my performance in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service I have been in the field of education for over 18 years that I am making excellent progress toward my professional goals. Throughout my first 18 years, I have received positive feedback that suggests I am well-regarded by both my colleagues and my students. My courses are widely heralded, and my students are responsive to my instructional methods, classroom management, and personal availability. They respond positively to my advising style, and some have indicated interest in my areas of scholarship. Additionally, I have found myself immersed in the outstanding global learning community the academy affords us. This has quickly occurred through my active participation on a variety of committees and my engagement in community service.

This personal narrative on my teaching, scholarship, and service, and my curriculum vita. describe my scholarly career, including my journey to my current position, as well as my plan for future achievements.  I have chosen to present myself within this narrative as a “civically engaged intellectual.” I am hopeful that this is reflected in my participation in the academic activities of teaching, scholarship, and service.
